Have you recovered from the events that transpired last season on Grey's Anatomy? If you haven't, you better turn up the music and dance it out like Meredith Grey, because season 12 is right around the corner and we are sure enough that Shonda Rhimes has some crazy storylines planned for us. With a new episode rolling out next week sans Patrick Dempsey, fans have been waiting to catch a look at what the new season (and Meredith's life) will look like. Lucky for them, an official trailer has been released and we have it for your viewing pleasure.

The clip, which was posted to ABC's official YouTube page, teases, "Stop counting the seconds. It's almost here," and mentions that this episode "[is] a season premiere that only Grey's can deliver," which means one thing -- DRAMA!

From the trailer, viewers can tell that Meredith has moved back into her old house with her kids and Derek's sister, Amelia, according to Us Weekly. Also seen in the trailer is Mer's half sister, Maggie, punching a mysterious blonde woman in the face at the hospital.

As fans know, Dempsey will not be returning to the show as he was killed off last season, but a lot of naysayers wonder if the long-running series can survive without one of the leads.

Ellen Pompeo spoke out to Entertainment Weekly comparing the show to Rhimes' other series, Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder, both driven by powerful women. She says that Grey's is just like these other female driven dramas.

"It's like, Annalise Keating carries the show, Olivia Pope carries the show, but somehow, Meredith Grey needs someone. Why can't I just be the lead of the show the way Annalise and Olivia can? Why can't I be on that poster by myself?" Pompeo asked.

Grey's returns to the airwaves next Thursday at 8 on ABC.
