Reports confirm that 37-year-old country songstress Mindy McCready was found dead on Sunday (Feb. 17) of an apparent suicide. NBC Dateline reporter Andrea Canning recently tweeted the unfortunate news that McCready "shot and killed herself earlier this evening." The "Ten Thousand Angels" crooner's brother also confirmed the songstress' suicide to the Daily News. McCready's death comes just a month after her boyfriend David Wilson was found dead on his front porch in Arkansas from a gunshot wound to the head. The former music producer's death was also initially ruled a suicide.

Canning sent out these tweets on Sunday evening:

@CanningAndrea: "Just got a call from Mindy McCready's best friend that she shot and killed herself this evening. My heart breaks for her two boys. RIP."

@CanningAndrea: "Police have not confirmed if #MindyMcCready reported death was a suicide. We are waiting for confirmation."

Few other details have yet to be released. The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office released a statement Sunday evening that reads:

"At 3:31 PM, Sunday, February 17th Deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a report of gun shots fired in the area of 1132 Fox Chase Drive in Heber Springs. Officers arrived on the scene at 3:58 PM and discovered the body of 37 year old Melinda Gayle McCready on the front porch of the residence at 1132 Fox Chase. Ms. McCready was pronounced dead at the scene from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. At this time family members have been notified of the incident. Ms. Mcready will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the matter will be fully investigated."

McCready recorded five studio albums throughout her career, but she is most infamously known for her highly-publicized affair with former Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens. According to several recent reports, the country songstress and mother of two young boys had been struggling with severe alcohol and mental health issues the past few months. A judge removed McCready's sons from her home on Feb. 6 - she then entered herself into an inpatient rehab facility for a mental-health and alcohol-abuse evaluation (which she checked out of two days later). Her troubling emotional and substance abuse issues worsened after the recent death of her boyfriend, producer David Wilson.

As Mstarz originally reported:

Earlier this month, country star Mindy McCready's boyfriend and alleged "soul mate" David Wilson was found dead on the front porch of their home, the result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The case remains open and rumors are still swirling that McCready may have been involved in Wilson's death following his alleged affair with a "mystery woman." McCready appeared on an episode of NBC's "Dateline" to debunk such shady accusations, tearfully insisting that she had nothing to do with the death of the man she loved.

McCready is still heartbroken after finding her "life partner" of two-years lying lifeless on their front porch in Arkansas on January 13, 2013. Wilson, a record producer, was quickly rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the head. In a portion of her Dateline interview (recently broadcasted on the "Today Show," Jan. 29), McCready explains that losing her "soul mate" was the most "painful" thing she's ever experienced:

"I've never gone through anything this painful," she said, "nor will I ever again go through anything as painful... He didn't just touch my heart, he touched my soul."

NBC's Andrea Canning asks the 37-year-old "Ten Thousand Angels" songstress if she was any way involved in Wilson's death, to which McCready responds:

"Oh my God, no. Oh my God, no. He was my life. We were each other's life... David was not having an affair with another woman. That is absolutely totally untrue."

Although the couple did have fights, it was nothing too extreme - "People have fights-it's just like normal couples," McCready explains.

And as for the rumors that Wilson may have been seeing another women behind McCready's back:

"David was not having an affair with another woman. That is absolutely, totally untrue. Neither one of us have ever cheated on each other and would never do that. That is absolutely a lie."

For a woman who insists that she was so in love, many found it odd that she didn't make an appearance at Wilson's memorial on Jan. 19 organized by some college buddies. McCready explains,

"I think that a bunch of David's friends got together and got drunk in memory of David-not something appropriate for me and my children to be a part of."

McCready has a nine-month old son fathered by Wilson, and a six-year-old son fathered by former boyfriend Billy McKnight.

Ultimately, the explanation behind Wilson's death still remains a total mystery, even for the heartbroken McCready. When asked if she truly believed "100 percent" that Wilson had committed suicide and had not been murdered, McCready took a few seconds and then responded with - "I don't know."

McCready has had her fair-share of Hollywood troubles in regards to drugs, affairs, leaked porn videos, arrests, probation, and rehab. Things seemed to settle down for McCready once she got together with Wilson.

Thoughts and condolences go out to McCready's family, friends, and fans during this time of tragedy and loss.
