It's a question so many of us are terrified to ask: What would we do if Donald Trump actually managed to become President of the United States? Well, if you ask former Daily Show host Jon Stewart, it appears he'd get in a rocket and leave Earth altogether. After winning a couple of trophies during last night's Emmy Awards, Stewart told reporters that if Trump becomes president our planet would be "bonkers."

"I would consider getting in a rocket and going to another planet, because clearly this planet's gone bonkers," he claimed.

Stewart left his coveted Daily Show seat back on Aug. 6 and shared with the Emmy audience – after his team won the Emmy for both Outstanding Variety Talk Series and Outstanding Writing For a Variety Talk Series – just what life on the outside is like, telling the crowd to "cling" to their time on television.

"I have been off television for six weeks, seven weeks, whatever it is- this is the first applause I've heard. It is a baron wasteland out there," he joked on the stage.

The comedian further noted that as an outsider you cannot just grab food off of tables the way you do with craft services. Which apparently sucks.

Of course, after the awards show, Stewart told reporters that if he had known how great it was to be out of work, he "probably would have left sooner." He called it "f*cking fun out there. You can do whatever you want during the day. You can get a smoothie at 2."

Stewart closed his Emmy speech saying that we'll never have to see him again. Which, as we all can (probably) agree, is not something we're hoping for.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah premieres this coming Sept. 28 on Comedy Central – "Same chair. Different ass."
