Houdini Horse VIDEO: Mariska the 'Escape Artist' Shows Off Freedom Skills at Michigan's Misty Meadow Farms, Sneaky Mare a Viral Hit

Mariska, the Friesian Mare infamously deemed "Houdini Horse" after her amusing escape artist tactics went viral on the web, sure does love her freedom! The nine-year-old mare who resides at the Misty Meadow Farms near Midland in central Michigan has a gifted knack of opening her stall door and roaming the farm's fields. Mariska's owners recently caught her devilish escapes on video and posted the clip on YouTube. It has garnered close to 900,000 YouTube views since being posted in January. Looks like Mariska the "Houdini Horse" is the latest adorable creature to skyrocket to viral fame!

Sandy Bonem, a Misty Meadow Farms co-owner, found Mariska's ability to unlatch several different stable locks quite amusing. Not only does the talented mare unlock her own stall, but once free, she gallops around and unlatches the stalls for other horses. According to Bonem, however, she never lets her own mother out.

Bonem managed to capture Mariska in action early last month. The Houdini Horse also knows how to open doors, gates, and apparently freezers:

Bonem explains to the Saginaw News that Mariska simply "doesn't like to be locked in."
