Rick Ross is facing a rape lawsuit from a woman, and now the Black Dollar rapper has released a response statement on the alleged incident. The Maybach Music Group head honcho is being sued after a woman claims that she was drugged and raped by a member of Ross’ entourage during Grammy weekend party.  Ross denies having any knowledge of the events.

The woman filed documents against Ross for not supervising a member of his team, named Thaddeus “Black” James, and therefore being partially responsible for his alleged acts in the incident. The MMG boss released an official statement on the matter, saying that he takes the situation at hand “very seriously.”

The statement read, “It has been brought to my attention that serious allegations have been made against an independent contractor, whose services I use often. And while I am not directly involved or implicated, as a man and a father, I take this very seriously. I don’t believe any woman’s safety should be compromised and she should never be forced to do anything outside of her will, regardless of the circumstances. While I personally have no knowledge of the specifics surrounding these allegations, it is my hope that this is rectified quickly and with sensitivity.”

The woman, who goes by “Jane Doe” in her court documents and filings, claims that she met up with Ross’ team at the W Hotel in Los Angeles for the weekend, before getting into a van with them to head to a weed convention. While at the event, she claims she was given a drink, began to feel dizzy and allegedly passed out.

She then recalls that when she woke up, she found that her clothes had been removed, leading her to believe that she was drugged and raped. For his affiliation with James, and lack of supervision, Ross is being named in the lawsuit by the woman.
