The Season 4 premiere of Arrow is a little more than a week away, which means we have precious few days left to preview what's ahead. A new report contains plenty of spoilers on Felicity's storyline, the bliss that is Olicity, and even Ray Palmer's (Brandon Routh) return! So let's check it out.

The Matt's Inside Line column at TVLine has some info on Felicity's (Emily Bett Rickards) plot for Season 4, as well as how she reacts when she learns Ray is alive and how that affects her relationship with Oliver (Stephen Amell). According to TV Line:

"As we previously reported, Felicity will be stepping up and facing challenges as Palmer Tech’s new CEO. Speaking of the company’s namesake, the discovery that presumed-dead Ray is actually alive is 'a huge emotional reveal, especially for Felicity,' executive producer Wendy Mericle previews. But don’t worry, Olicity ‘shippers — 'It’s more of an emotional reaction to the loss of a friend than any sort of romantic rival. She’s very happy with Oliver when we come back in Season 4, but [she and Ray] were friends and they left on good terms. It’s more just the relief of, oh my gosh, I thought you were gone and now you’re not. How exciting is that?'”

It's comforting to know that Arrow is not going to subject us to some manufactured drama wherein Oliver overreacts to Felicity's learning that Ray is alive. It's possible something else splits these two apart, but one would hope that it's something meaningful.

It's also a positive sign that Felicity is taking a more active role this season as CEO. The issues fans had with her character last season were well documented, so hopefully this represents a return to the excellent and respected female character we met in Seasons 1 and 2.
