Cam Newton has landed his own Nickelodeon show, where the NFL star will be helping kids to accomplish their dreams on a series titled, I Wanna Be. The Carolina Panthers player is always seeking to work with children, and now he’s going to be helping them to live out their biggest goals on the brand new inspiring series.

According to reports, I Wanna Be will be receiving 20 episodes, with the NFL star at the center of each one. On each show, he will be aiding kids as they attempt to accomplish their dreams. Goals include cake-decorating for award-winning desserts and even trying to land a spot on the Broadway stage. Through them all, Newton will be taking on goals outside of sports for kids.

While releasing a statement through Sporting News, Newton talked about the inspiration for him to create and star in the series. "Time in the spotlight has made me realize the importance of creating positive messages to inspire the next generation. I'm very passionate about mentoring young people, and this show will be the perfect opportunity to help talented kids get the chance to pursue their dreams,” he wrote.

He also talked about the show with Fox Sports during a press conference recently. "It's really unbelievable. You know I'm a kid at heart, we all know that. But yet, I think nowadays days, so much is really said about reality TV. After knowing so many people that are actually there, I didn't necessarily want to go that route,” he told the outlet.

This won’t be the first acting experience for Newton, as the football player has starred in multiple commercials. He also has done a ton of work with kids, having more recently surprised a little boy named Elijah, who has a rare cancer that may keep him from celebrating Halloween (his favorite holiday) festivities this year.
