Season 2 of the Batman prequel, Gotham, continues on Fox. In Episode 2, as secrets are finally revealed, will Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), survive what The Maniax have been planning in Knock Knock?

Theo Galavan (James Frain) speaks of poetic eloquences as he tortures The Mayor. Galavan promises the cleansing will take over the city. The press are suddenly distracted as Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) and the Maniax throw innocent civilians off the roof. The letters on the dead bodies spell out, "Maniax!"

With Jim leading the case, he gives a list of the Maniax members, including Barbara (Erin Richards). Theo applauds the group, wanting them to kick up their performance another notch. Tigress (Jessica Lucas) and Barbara are having fun torturing the Mayor.

In the caves, Bruce (David Mazouz) is unable to stop Alfred (Sean Pertwee) from destroying the computer. Whatever is inside the computer could also kill Bruce. Failing his father, Bruce fires Alfred and tells him never to come back.

Theo has Jerome and another Maniax member fight for leadership by making them play Russian Roulette. Jerome keeps pulling the trigger and becomes the leader. At the bar, Jim tries to convince Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) to come back but his fiancee, Scottie, (Maria Thayer) interrupts. Harvey then gives Jim a clue where he head next.

Alfred packs his bags and says his farewell to Bruce. At their next heist, Jerome spots the yellow school bus full of cheerleaders. Edward (Corey Michael Smith) plays a game of riddles with Ms. Kringle (Chelsea Spack) but screws up asking her out. Edward ends up yelling at his split personality.

While holding the cheerleaders hostage, Jerome sprays them with gasoline. Just as Jerome is about the light the fuse, Gordon and the calvary show up. During the shoot-out, Jim has to drive  the school bus away from the spreading fire. One of the Maniax members is shot down by Tigress after Jim captures him.

Bruce meets with Alfred at the railroad station. Telling him not to leave, Bruce asks Alfred to train him. If Alfred agrees to stay, Bruce has to follow his every instructions. But first, they have to fix the broken computer.

As Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) checks on the bullet, Alfred meets with Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) at a bar. Alfred promises if Lucius breaks his trust, he is a dead man. At the office, Jim suddenly gets a call from Barbara. After hearing her laugh, Jim follows her out of the precinct.

Jerome and the Maniax show up at the precinct and open fire. As Edward saves Kringle, Jim gets his butt handed to him. Barbara kisses Jim before leaving him on the streets. Jim finally gets up and finds the commissioner dying.

Back at the caves, Lucius attempts to fix the computer but he doesn't know what's on it. Lucius loved Thomas Wayne but regrets never telling him. Bruce runs to the precinct and checks up on Jim. Bruce hugs Jim, knowing he's okay. Harvey then returns with his badge back on.

The news repeats Jerome's video message, promising something big next.
