The Smashing Pumpkins might not be relevant in today's music scene and it is more than fine that frontman Billy Corgan has branched out into the Professional Wrestling world, but when he recently lent his talents to a local Chicago-area furniture maker, Robert E. Smithe, people started to get a bit worried. The 45-year-old rocker has dedicated most of his attention on his Resistance Pro Wrestling organization; as much as his dwindling music career. So when one of the Smithe brothers approached Corgan for one of the furniture company's signature "over the top" commercials, Billy signed on under the condition that he can showcase his wrestling company. Clearly the Smithes agreed and the following video has hit the Internet, garnering lots of publicity for Resistance Pro Wrestling but also some concerns over Corgan's sanity.

The advertisement opens with Billy and 3 men in suits playing a game of musical chairs in a wrestling ring. When one of the suited men loses his seat to Billy, things get ugly and Corgan calls in 3 wrestlers. A battle ensues for the majority of the commercial until 1 wrestler grabs a chair to use against another. Corgan, who has been managing the fight from outside the ring, stops the assailant saying, "Wait! That's a Walter E. Smithe chair." That is the whole commercial. Does it make you want to buy a chair?

Though this commercial is hardly a cry for help or a sign of worse things to come, Billy has worried the Internet with recent actions over the years. In 2005 Corgan confused fans by placing full-page ads in the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times trying to reunite the Smashing Pumpkins. At one point, Corgan created a spiritual website, "Everything From Here to There," with the purpose of discussing "without fear concepts of Mind-Body-Soul integration. He made some questionable choices in his love life with Courtney Love and Tila Tequila. He even dated Jessica Simpson. All of these actions have made people worry about and, mainly, poke fun at Corgan.

Some of the best comments on the Robert E. Smithe commercial's YouTube page include the following:

"I guess... Today isn't the greatest day of his life" - blingadingding

"The world is a paycheck!" - Jesse Bishop

"get yours for ZERO down" - ira82

As the comments continue, you notice a reoccurring theme of "WTF." It is a very strange advertisement, yes, but one thing is for sure: you are going to check out Robert E. Smithe and Resistance Pro Wrestling, aren't you?
