Cleveland Cavaliers' J.R. Smith's got nothing but love for his new coach. Apparently Smith would "run through a brick wall" for Head Coach, David Blatt.

Now, despite the fact that coach Blatt doesn't seem to have much respect as a coach who managed to get his team to the NBA Finals (which, in all honestly, is probably because of LeBron James, who doesn't seem to respect him at all, considering the fact that he was the Cavs' real coach while Blatt was merely a figurehead). At least one person on the Cavs seems to love and respect Blatt more than anyone else.

That one person is the former Knick, J.R. Smith.

Smith's got plenty of love for Blatt on and off court. After joining the Cavs, J.R. became the player he always had the potential to be. Playing with the Cavs allowed J.R. to play without the New York distractions and without the dysfunctional organization of the Knicks. Now, according to Fox Sports, LeBron James may be the reason J.R. was able to become a part of the Cavs, but unlike LeBron, Smith's got nothing but love for his head coach. As reported by NBC Sports, here's what Smith said about Blatt:

"First things first, before we get into basketball, Coach really cares about me as a person. That's one of the first coaches I've had that actually cared about me off the court more than on the court, so it was that much easier for me to play for him and give my all because I know he cares about me as a person. When you have someone like that behind you it's so much easier just to play. I'd run through a brick wall for Coach."

According to SunTimes Network, apparently the love and respect is due to the fact that Blatt doesn't micromanage:

"He just lets me play. He tells me to make the best basketball play possible. He doesn't tell me not to shoot or when to shoot. He tells me to make the best basketball play. He trusts me with that."

At least there is one player on the Cleveland Cavaliers who respects the Cavs' head coach! Hopefully everyone else will come around, too and let the coach do his job.
