Reports confirm that two Utah women, Robin Willette Rumsey and Krista Jean Miller, were arrested on multiple felony child abuse and endangerment charges on Tuesday (Feb. 19). Rumsey and her friend Miller allegedly duct-taped Rumsey's teenage son, poured hot sauce in his eyes and mouth, and forced him to inhale marijuana as a disciplinary "punishment." The 14-year-old boy was safely returned to the custody of his father following the arrests, and the case is still under investigation.

According to West Valley Police Sgt. Jason Hauer, 38-year-old Rumsey started morbidly abusing her son about two years ago. Police and child welfare services were made aware of Rumsey's inappropriate parenting techniques months ago - such cruel and unconventional forms of punishment could have indeed inflicted much harm on the boy. "This is not discipline that any child should have to go through," Hauer stated on Thursday. "It's definitely abuse."

Reports claim that after accidentally breaking a dish glass, Rumsey and Miller poured Tabasco sauce into the teen's eyes. During other "punishable" occasions, the women would blow marijuana smoke into the boy's face, pour alcohol on him, and lock him in the basement. Such a probably cause statement is being used to hold the women at a local Salt Lake City Jail.

Rumsey and 33-year-old Miller could face additional child-abuse charges since the case is still ongoing. According to the Inquisitr, Marsha Christensen (Miller's foster mother) believes that such abuse allegations were fabricated due to a heated custody battle over the alleged victim. Christensen insists that Miller would never behave in such an abusive manner, especially against a child - "No, she was not raised this way."

As far as Hauer is concerned, the 14-year-old boy was forced to smoke weed and bare the pain of hot sauce being poured in his eyes. No information about a custody battle was available:

"This case is full of mysteries. There are a lot of questions coming up that I don't have answers to, mostly because the case is still active ... The arrests made two days ago with Krista and Robin are probably just the beginning of other allegations that are going to come to light in this case."

The case has been under investigation for the past six months.

Court records were not available online, and little else is known about the impending case and allegations (most likely due to the age of the victim and the involvement of child welfare authorities).
