The largest expo for women is hitting New York and Circle of Sisters 2015 is planning to be bigger and better than ever. WBLS host, Déjà Vu, opened up about what the event means to her and what women should expect to get out of the two day event held October 17th-18th.

Running strong for nearly 15 years, the enormous event will hold celebrity filled panels at the Jacob Javits Convention Center ending the weekend with R&B concert featuring legend Chaka Khan, Tamar Braxton and Avant.

MStars News: What does the circle of Sisters Expo mean to you?

Déjà Vu: Circle of sister's expo is a place for women to come and enjoy themselves. It's a place of unity we preach all about women joining together but this is really a work in action. Circle of Sisters is our benchmark event we do every October we have 30-40 thousand women and not only are the women coming out to get their shop on with the venders, but we learn so much with the panels and we're entertained with the concerts. Like we have an amazing concert this year with Chaka Khan, Tamar Braxton and Avant and it's going to be really, really nice. I'm excited about it all. Last year I launched my own personal effort with my own book called Live Your Life Transformed and Repurposed and the sisters and the circle of sisters helped launch it off to a great start. I mean I sold out all of my products, it was amazing.

MStars News: What are you looking forward to the most. I know you said the concert you have Avant, Chaka Khan are you looking forward to any speakers any panels?

DV: Well, every year we do a state of black America panel which is really impactful it is really one of our well, most attended ones that really talks about everything that is going on. And in the light and in the tune of what's happening with the black lives matter movement I believe this is going to be one of the most impactful panels that we've had in years. So I'm looking forward to hearing what people have to say about where we will go in growing this platform of black lives matter. I'm hearing us talk about branching out and getting more into the communities. I'm excited about that because I'm sure (@3:46 ? don't know what she says) will be a definite part of it. And you can't forget about the love and relationship stuff that Lenny Grevlings and I will be doing the Hustle and Flow panel talking about entrepreneurship, female women using their inner power to build their empire their business empire.

MStars News: How open are your panels in terms to different races.

DV: Yes, absolutely. People of all ethnicities and diversities can come a join a part of it. Now this is highlighting things, things that a lot of African American people face, I mean people in general but exactly you can come on out there. We've had several people of different nationalities join us on stage as well as our vendors.

MStars News: Were you motivated by any speakers in the past that kind of pushed you, empowered you in some way?

DV: Let me see who I was really [sic] last year she was amazing. She talked about owning your story and creating a new story. And she really reached out and touched the people. Even as she walked through the crowds it was amazing to see her there. You know we see her on TV with her Fix It and everything, Fix It Live and all that but to have her live and in person and to not just have her behind the TV screen to have her really there. I think at one point she even kicked off her shoes, that's how comfortable she was in the crowd.

MStars News: Is there any I guess any celebrities you are looking forward to seeing?

DV: Well, I can't spoil it on everybody that is going to be there, but I would personally, music wise I'd love to see Chaka Khan I have only seen her, I've only interviewed her once in my career but she's just amazing. I want to see her and hear what she has to say because I don't really know that much about her story. We know bits and pieces about Chaka Khan but I want to dive a little deeper and hear what she has to say.

MStars News: And as far as the demographics in age, is it open for younger women to come out, do you encourage it?

DV: Absolutely, now you know that WBLS's platform is 25-54 but we are also partnered with our sister station hot 97 is going to have their own panels and different breakout session. We are going to even have 11.90 WLIB which hits the gospel field so they're going to have their own panels and breakout sessions and different concerts on the performance stage. Hot 97 I think they're going to have part of a car show this year. They did that last year with Flex's car not sure who's car they're using this year. I know Nessa is planning something special for the young people, the young girls. And Laura Styles is doing some things with beauty and one of the brand magazines that we haven't launched yet. It's open for everybody.

MStars News: It's a two-day event so how can you encourage someone to come out to the first day and the second day.

DV: well you know not everything is happening the first day, right? So the first day we give you a little preview of it and then you say girl this wasn't it for you honey you've got to come back for it tomorrow. So you know you've got to leave a little bit for the second Sunday, for the second part too. A lot of folks go to church on Sunday and they say well I can't miss church service and well we have Bishop Hezekiah Walker who is a Grammy award winning singer as a part of our 11.90 WLIB family he's one of the DJ's there. And he does a sermon every Sunday at the Jacob Javitz and when I tell you there is standing room only, believe me there is standing room only so it's really awesome. And then you have some of your favorite powerhouse gospel people but last year not just the gospel artists we had [sic] do an up close and personal on Sunday

MStars News: What do you want people to walk away from coming to this function?

DV: I want them to be encouraged and inspired. I want them to come and say girl circle of sisters is amazing I want them to feel the unity I was talking about before. It's all family. Meeting people you say oh my goodness I didn't know you had this business I didn't know you had that. I want them to feel that unity when they leave.
