An upcoming episode of NBC's hit drama/crime series "Law and Order: SVU" entitled "Funny Valentine" follows the turbulent and violent relationship between "a promising young singer and her popular hip-hop star boyfriend." Hmm... sound familiar? Although the episode's promo (set to air on Wednesday, Feb. 27) doesn't mention the lead characters by these names, it's pretty obvious that the story's inspired by real-life celebrities Rihanna and Chris Brown. As many fans remember, the controversial couple was involved in a highly-publicized domestic violence dispute back in 2009, where the "Don't Wake Me Up" crooner physically assaulted and abused the Barbadian beauty. Check out the leaked "Law and Order: SVU" promo video below... notice any resemblances?

A YouTube description that goes along with the "Funny Valentine" video promo reads:

"A promising singer (Micha Charles, played by Tiffany Robinson) is brutally attacked by her boyfriend (Caleb Brown, played by Eugene Jones), a popular hip-hop star. ADA Barba (guest star Raul Esparza) works to build a case, but the victim refuses to aid the prosecution and, despite Detective Benson's (Mariska Hargitay) best efforts, continues to put herself in danger. The case quickly spirals into a media circus, perpetrated by both the defendant and his uncompromising attorney (guest star Tambor). Also starring Ice-T (Detective Odafin Tutuola), Richard Belzer (Sergeant John Munch), Danny Pino (Detective Nick Amaro) and Kelli Giddish (Detective Amanda Rollins). Special appearances by Perez Hilton, Dave Navarro and Wendy Williams."

Check it out:

Brown regularly beats on Charles throughout the episode - Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay) begins to wonder why she stays in the relationship with him (similar to how several fans and fellow celebs frown upon RiRi's rekindled romance with Brown). Charles also refuses to cooperate with the prosecution despite efforts of assistant district attorney Barba (Raul Esparza) to built a domestic assault case against Brown. The story soon becomes a huge media blowout.

The promo (posted on Feb. 20) already has close to 68,000 views, and has sparked a controversial fan debate on YouTube:

msbebe08: "This just goeeessss to show what people will do for ratings!!!! I hope no one watches!! You judge mental pricks!! #chrianna 24/7."

cadogan69: "They are a public couple, so the public is offering an opinion. As for Rihanna not deserving this? I can only hope as a fan of her's that she watches this episode and see how sad, weak and pathetic she looks. Defending and chasing a man who almost kill her.

OneOver Jordan: "Smh I think they should let them live their lives n cancel this episode."

Sauske20: "I don't know why some people are upset with the writers of SUV. It's good that they do a story like this. Rihanna and a bad influence on her fans. It's like she's saying that it's okay if a guy beats you. Just take him back and everything will be okay. And Chris Brown is a disgusting human being. Don't get mad at Law and Order SUV. Get mad at Rihanna and Chris Brown."

taitianarone: "Wow I'm a huge fan of Law and Order but I really don't think this was necessary! That shit is way in the past and those two (Rihanna and Chris) need to be left alone!"

So what do Mstarz readers think - will you be tuning into NBC's controversial Rihanna and Chris Brown-inspired "Law and Order: SUV" episode on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 9 p.m. ET?
