That was quick. Just one day after actor Shia LaBeouf backed out of the Broadway show Orphans, Ben Foster was picked to replace him. LaBeouf left the show Wednesday due to "creative differences."

Foster's roles include movies X-Men 3: The Last Stand, 3:10 to Yuma, and The Messenger as well as the TV show Six Feet Under. Foster's role in Orphans will be his Broadway debut. Foster will be playing the role of Treat, a petty thief.

Orphans tells the story of two orphaned brothers living in a broken down Philadelphia row house who decide to kidnap a wealthy man. LaBeouf was to play one of the brothers, which will now be played by Foster, while former 30 Rock star Alex Baldwin plays the wealthy man.

According to the shows producers the switch will not delay the opening. Orphans is still set to debut at the Schoenfeld Theatre, with rehearsals restarting Friday.

The Internet blew up on Thursday after reports came out that LaBeouf had left the Broadway show. LaBeouf said he was leaving due to "creative differences", which rarely seems to be the case. The Atlantic Wire speculated that LaBeouf could have been fired after some "creative differences" with co-star Alex Baldwin. New York Post's theater gossip writer Michael Riedel reportedly was told by a source that Labeouf was indeed fired, but it was because "he wasn't good in the role."

LaBeouf wasted no time Thursday taking to Twitter to try and quiet some of the rumors. The actor posted email messages on his Twitter between him and Baldwin, Tom Sturridge (playing the other orphan brother), and director Daniel Sullivan. In an email to Baldwin, LaBeouf wrote, "Sorry for my part of a dis-agreeable situation."

Baldwin reportedly wrote back, "I don't have an unkind word to say about you. You have my word." This seems to go against the notion that the two actors weren't getting along.

After news of LaBeouf's exit, Sullivan reportedly wrote to the Transformers star, "This one will haunt me. You tried to warn me. You said you were a different breed. I didn't get it."

You can read all of LaBeouf's strange Twitter rants where he posts photo's of numerous emails exchanged between him and the cast @thecampaignbook

One Tweet that seemed the most telling was this photo of an email written by what seems to be director Daniel Sullivan...

The key line from Sullivan, "Alex is who he is. you are who you are. you two are incompatible." That seems to suggest it was in fact "creative differences" between the two stars.

LaBeouf added on his Twitter account, "The theater belongs not to the great but to the brash. acting is not for gentlemen, or bureaucratic-academics. what they do is antiart."

Unfortunately for fans who want to know the real reason why LaBeouf left (or was fired) from Orphans these Twitter messages are all rather confusing. The one line from director Daniel Sullivan obviously suggests differences between LaBeouf and Baldwin, but who knows if that was lone reason for LaBeouf's exit. Maybe Baldwin will speak out and tell his side of the story. It would be interesting to see how he feels about LaBeouf posting all these private emails.

What do Mstarz fans think? Did LaBeouf leave on his own or was he fired?
