The 2015 MLB playoffs are fast approaching - and things are finally heating-up!

The New York Mets take the field against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the [post] regular season NLDS on Friday, October 9 at 9:45 p.m. EST at California's renowned Dodgers Stadium. Read on to see where fans can watch and listen to a live stream of the pre-playoff ballgame online - also catch up-to-date feeds and coverage on highlight plays and scores.

So, does New York or Los Angeles hold the edge in ESPN.com's updated break-down of all 30 teams (power rankings), now that both teams are competing for the title of National League champ?

Mets (7): "The Mets recorded 90 wins for the 11th season in team history and for the first time since they went 97-65 in 2006." Joe Janish, Mets Today

New York currently maintains an impressive 90-72 winning record and managed to cinch the National League Eastern Division.

Dodgers (6): "The Mets' nosedive in the final week gave the Dodgers home-field advantage in the Division Series that begins Friday. Zack Greinke's 1.66 ERA led the majors and was the lowest since 1995 (Greg Maddux, 1.63). Clayton Kershaw is the first pitcher to reach the 300-strikeout milestone since Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson in 2002." Diane Firstman, Value Over Replacement Grit

With that, LA holds an awesome 92-70 winning record and also snagged the 1st spot in the National League Western Division.

Some facts from SportingNews:

- The Dodgers have home-field advantage, which is important for them because they went 55-26 at home opposed to 37-44 on the road this season.

- The Mets tied the Cubs for the second-worst team average in the majors at .244, but finished tied for eighth in home runs with 177.

- The Dodgers finished the regular season 4-0 in October, outscoring their opponents 17-8, which should give them confidence heading into the playoffs.

- The Mets finished the season fourth in team ERA (3.53) and tied for second in WHIP (1.18), so despite having several young arms in the rotation, the Mets will likely be stingy allowing runs in the playoffs.

Tonight's monumental ballgame will be broadcasted live on local sports channel TBS.
