Former NBA play turned rapper, Daniel Boobie Gibson confirms giving up his multimillion dollar contract for a shot at being the next Future, Drake, Jay Z of tomorrow.

The athlete said that he just grew tired of playing mediocre after his injuries and grew frustrated with his career in basketball which eventually led to his hand in his passion for rap music, "I do have the option to play in the league but you get to a certain point when you get to understand what it is you want out of life. I went through some serious injuries, probably like towards the end of my career in the last two years and when I tore that tendon in my foot, every time I got out there I felt like I couldn't play at the level I wanted to."

When Charlamagne Tha God asked if he should consider doing rap as a hobby instead of throwing away his NBA career at 29.

"When it's a hobby and you're still in the NBA, people don't take it as serious. But when you leave the NBA and you say, 'This is what I want to do,' people be like, 'Man, you are crazy.' They're not even going to give it a chance," he said.

Charlamagne focused more on his money adding he wasn't a bad rapper, "I think he's an OK rapper," Charlamagne said. "I'm not gonna front. I don't think you're wack. There was a part of me that wanted to say, 'I can't wait to tell Boobie he's wack.' But I don't think you're wack from what I heard just now. But it ain't worth walking away from millions of dollars in the NBA!"
