Oscars, Kristen Stewart Crutches [PHOTOS]: 'Twilight' Star Hobbles Around Red Carpet and Stage, Why The Limp, Bella?

After a night full of gorgeous gowns with eye-popping accessories, all we can talk about is Kristen Stewart's addition to her long white dress: crutches! The Twilight star turned a lot of heads as she hobbled down the red carpet, handed her crutches off to an assistant while posing for photos, and was next seen limping on stage to present the award for Achievement in Production Design with Daniel Radcliffe. But what exactly happened to force everybody's favorite vampire belladonna to have to use crutches during such a momentous ceremony?

According to some backstage banter and a comment from Stewart's make up artist, Beau Nelson, the 22-year-old actress' foot had a run in with some broken glass 2 days ago and severely cut the ball of her foot. Details of the Lennox-esque moment (sorry, I had to!) have yet to been told, but it looks like Kristen herself is willing to admit that it was her own fault! Best Supporting Actress winner Anne Hathaway exclaimed, "Oh no!" when running into Stewart backstage. Kristen responded, "I know, I'm an idiot. But Congratulations!" Hathaway hoped Stewart would use the crutches to walk on stage but the Twilight starlet said she would "hobble" without them. To this, the Les Miserables starlet wished her luck, saying, "Well, break a leg. Oops!" Also backstage, Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence was seen helping Stewart with her crutches. Stewart seemed to handle the situation as best she could, but was worried that the wound might open up, causing a world of pain and discomfort for the audience. Another encounter between her and MTV News correspondent Josh Horowitz resulted in the following tweet:

But “KStew” said she would hobble on stage for her presentation with Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, and hobble she did. Unfortunately, it looked like she did not have time to allow the backstage hairdresser to run a brush through her hair, so now the Internet is erupting with unflattering comments about how disheveled she looked. Basically people are saying she looked like she just rolled out of bed, through on an amazing gown, and limped over to the ceremony. Honestly, though, despite the limp, the tired eyes, and the messy hair, Kristen Stewart walked that red carpet and presented the award for Achievement in Production Design to the best of her ability. She should be commended, really. We hope your foot gets better soon!
