Tuesday night's Democratic debate has quite a few people yammering in anticipation. Of course, not as many as the Republican debates, but that was largely because of Donald Trump's oh-so-anything-can-happen presence. Regardless, CNN will host the very first Democratic debate, and many are hopeful that vice president Joe Biden shows up to announce his run for President, which is exactly why the network has created a "just in case" podium for the VP. And if you ask Late Show with Stephen Colbert host, well, that's just ridiculous.

Monday night's Late Show aired a bit which mocked CNN's "just in case" podium. That, and CNN's Jim Acosta's account of what it would be like if Biden were to show up. Which, if we were watching a movie, would be pretty cool.

But of course, it's real life.

Acosta claimed that he could imagine Biden coming west towards Las Vegas on Tuesday in Air Force Two, speeding over to the Hall in his aviator glasses and yellow corvette saying, "Let's do this thing."

The CNN personality further called the scenario "fascinating political television..."

To which Colbert agreed with, to a degree.

"It would be fascinating political television, and it's a great strategy for cable news: describing things more compelling than what you're watching now." he joked.

So, does Colbert have a point?

CNN's Democratic debate will air Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 8:30 p.m. The network will have a free live stream via their website.
