‘Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke Named Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire Magazine

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has been quite the hot commodity this past year. Receiving the Woman of the Year award by GQ magazine back in September, it doesn't come as too big of a surprise that this past Tuesday night, Clarke was named the Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire Magazine. From mothering dragons and kicking some serious butt in James Cameron's latest Terminator film, Clarke just might actually have it all.

According to USA Today, Esquire made the big reveal that Clarke was named the Sexiest Woman Alive this past Tuesday at midnight. Joining the ranks of previous winners like Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson and Halle Berry, being named Esquire's SWA is no small feat.

Although Clarke's lightning speed rise to fame may appear to have been effortless, according to CNN, she had no idea what she was getting herself into when auditioning for the role of Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones. Supposedly, Clarke had to use Wikipedia to educate herself beforehand, and after landing the role, all of the nudity and on screen sex scenes were tough for her to bare.

The 28-year-old Game of Thrones star, who was explained in Esquire's accompanying Nov. 2011 article as "Half pal, half dominatrix. Half kid sister, half sexy queen. The movie star who plays, in her real life, an anonymous, funny beauty. This is the gorgeous balance of Emilia Clarke", truly does appear to be a uniquely crafted blend of talent, class, and beauty.

Her SWA photo spread, which can be seen in the latest issue of Esquire, is simply the icing on top of the cake.
