Even though the 22-year-old Silver Linings Playbook star tripped on her way to accept her Academy Awards for Best Actress last night, it seems that she did not care too much during her post-award questions, apparently taking a shot beforehand and flipping off the press room. Though the ceremony itself was a big enough story, it seems like Miss Lawrence kept the entertainment coming, answering some of the strangest questions with a smile on her face and even admitted she "did a shot before" coming on stage. It seems like, with an industry full of careful and overly serious actors trying to maintain a pristine image, Jennifer has the best attitude and is able to laugh off a stumble.
When asked about how she fell while walking up the steps, Lawrence quickly interjected, "Was that on purpose? Absolutely." She added, "What do you mean, 'What happened?' Look at my dress." Classic Jennifer.
So with that question out of the way, you would think that the press would move on to different subjects like her role in Silver Linings Playbook or how she just won her first Oscar. This of course did happen but there were still a few odd questions posed to the Best Actress award winner. Yes and no. There were relevant questions involving the issue of bipolar disorder and how her role and the film in general will help the cause. Great. Good stuff, press room. Jennifer was happy to answer this one and was very astute in her answer. Next question: how did she get ready for the ceremony. Okay, guy, if you are going to ask that sort of question, expect the worst from Jen. She responded, "I don't know, I just woke up and tried on the dress and it fit, thank god. And then, um, I took a shower? That's what I did." How else would a cheeky actress such as Lawrence answer such an absurd question? She is infamous for her wit.
There was also a query regarding her career peaking too soon since she won an Oscar at such a young age. She handled this as best she could (VIDEO HERE) without blatantly calling the reported an idiot. The look on her face for each odd question was pretty much a "you are an idiot" expression.
As she walked off of the press room stage she turned and jokingly flipped off the reporters for a soon-to-be iconic photo opportunity. Honestly, that picture is GOLDEN. I wouldn't be surprised to see that as a tattoo one day.
What do you think of the Best Actress' press room answers?
