Newly single singer Britney Spears is going through another makeover. Spears showed off her new brunette hair at Elton John's Oscar party Sunday night in Los Angeles. The pop superstar showed up at Elton John's annual Oscars viewing party wearing a sparkling black Michael Cinco gown with de Grisogono jewels, Saint Laurent shoes and of course her new brunette hair.

Spears reportedly was not at the party for very long. According to People magazine Spears showed up around 10:15pm with her publicist and manger, made the rounds, and left around 11pm. A source told People that everyone was buzzing about how good the 31-year-old former "X-Factor" judge looked. According to ABC News, Spears was partying with Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Heidi Klum and Emma Roberts

This is a complete 180 from her look on "X-Factor", where she appeared tired and disheveled at times. Spears recently broke up with fiance Jason Trawick, so the change in appearance goes right along with the trend.

This isn't the first time Spears has changed her hair color to brunette. She has done it a few times throughout her career, but based on early reviews, this may be the best job she has done so far. Her new hair color is said to be more of a chocolate brown, closely resembling her natural hair color.

Spears was not accompanied by her rumored new boyfriend David Lucado. The two were spotted together on Valentines Day and the 27-year-old is described as being the exact opposite of the prototypical Hollywood guy.

Spears was recently featured on will.i.am's new single "Scream and Shout." There were rumors Spears didn't even sing on the song, but those were immediately shot down by her representatives. She is also working on a new song that is for her kids.

So what do you think Mstarz readers...do you prefer Britney as a blonde or brunette?
