Atlanta Rapper Young Vito has been acquitted by the court after he was found not guilty of the murder of rapper Slim Dunkin, Feb. 25.
Vito was accused of killing rapper Slim Dunkin after a fight broke out between the two at an Atlanta recording studio during the shoot of a music video, Dec. 16, 2011. Dunkin was shot in the chest. Vito was free after he posted a bond for a previous aggravated assault charge. Dunkin was an upcoming artist of the Brick Squad 1017 alum. He was an associate of Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame.
Vito, whose real name is Vinson Hardimon, was found guilty of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm. He was given 25 years behind the bars by Fulton County Superior Court Judge, Craig Schwall.
30-year-old Vito had fled the scene after Dunkin was down but later surrendered to the police after ten days.
Witnesses had said that the fight broke out over a piece of candy but the statement from the district attorney's office says that there was a fight after Dunkin got impatient waiting outside the studio, AllHipHop reported.
"[His death] hurt me though, mentally, like, the whole team too. We just now getting over it," said rapper Waka Flocka on the death of Dunkin to HipHopDX.
