Lil Mama responds to dissing Nicki Minaj on her newest track "Too Fly."

In the track the actress allegedly raps about the Trinidadian native spitting, "If I was born in Trini and moved to the states, with the rage I make I would have got deported," she raps. "I should punch you in your face for making me grandma / With all these sons and uncle grandpas / And the stunts you be pulling like you bloody, bloody mad / 'Til I smack you in the face while I'm writing these anthems."

In an interview with Vlad TV, the 26-year-old explained that the line can be taken anyway that person feels to take it as, "Well, my family is also from Trini as well. I never really talk about it as well because I don't need to. I guess you can see my roots, through my dancing and things like that, I have Caribbean in me." She explained, "As far as taking shots, this is Hip Hop, it;'s fair game. If they took it as a shot, then it's a shot because perception is reality and at the end of the day, I'm not here to say 'no.'"

It's a sport. It's not a personal thing so whether it's her or him, it's like anyone can get it. It's fair game. I'm never going to stand down and say 'Oh, I'm not talking to him' or 'I'm not talking to her,' it is what it is."

Some suspect that Lil Mama is still upset about Nicki's verse from Yo Gotti's "5 Star" remix where she send a dig rapping, "Bye little mama you're a three star, I ain't dreamin' when I'm saying I'm in my dream car."

In 2013, the "Lip Gloss" rapper said she wanted to see Nicki embrace other female rappers instead of tearing them down in an interview with BET, "It's a lot of underground women who are trying to break through, but on a mainstream level the one person that I really hear on the radio is Nicki Minaj," she said. "A lot of times, I hear her say. 'I do this for women,' and 'I'm doing this for all of us,' while she's accepting a BET award, but other than that I don't see her embracing any other women. I feel it's time for female MCs to really start sticking together and start putting out some music."

"I feel like we shouldn't bash each other on records and get in-person and talk about how there is no more room for another female MC, 'It's only me and F you.' Even with the dudes, they will battle and let you know, 'You are not nicer than me,' but at the end of the day, we should be able to get together and enjoy each other," she said.
