'Rebel Heart': Madonna Celebrates Daughter Lourdes Leon's Birthday Dinner Late Because of Tour

Rebel Heart singer Madonna was a few days late celebrating daughter Lourdes Leon's 19th birthday this past Oct. 14. The star was performing in Vancouver for one night, according to her world tour calendar. No worries, though, Mama Ciccone made up for it by flying in to attend a private dinner honoring Lourdes. The party included her 15-year-old half-brother Rocco and a group of friends in the VIP section at upscale Italian eatery Via Veneto in Santa Monica, California. The grammy award winning musician serenaded the group with a rendition of hit single, "Celebration."

The birthday girl has likely inherited mom's rebel style. E Online reports that Lourdes wore stacked accessories, rings on every finger, a layered choker, a blue 70's throwback varsity jacket, sheer paneling leggings and platform boots while her 57-year old super star mom was spotted wearing her signature fingerless gloves made of lace, a laced crop top baring her belly and a pair of age appropriate tuxedo pants with a black blazer.

She got it right this time!

The birthday girl is interested in pursuing a music and fashion career, which is why the mother-daughter duo is working on a fashion line called Material Girl.

Lourdes is currently enrolled as a sophomore at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she is studying performing arts. Madonna was an alumni of the same university for a brief time before she dropped out and moved to New York City to chase her dream of being a performer, says Daily Mail.

While on a Rebel Heart tour stop in Montreal the veteran musician spoke lovingly onstage about her eldest child. She sang a song to a ukulele and says Lourdes taught her how to sing the song and to play the instrument.

Lourdes' father is the Cuban-born actor Carlos Leon, who had a romantic relationship with the pop star in the mid-1990s. The couple split in May 1997 and they have since remained good friends.
