According to Fox sports columnist AJ Perez, "Boston entered the week on a three-game winning streak, even if only one of those teams (the Lightning) would make the playoffs had the season ended on Sunday."

The Islanders snag the no 5 spot in the Eastern Atlantic Conference, with a 8-10-1 record. The team ranks no 27 overall. Perez points out, "Good news? Goalie Rick DiPietro cleared waivers, and he'll be in the minors. Maybe better if another team picked him and the remainder of his 15-year deal up. Like that would really happen."

The game will be broadcasted live on NESN and NBCSN, but fans can also listen in on the radio at Sports Hub 98.5, ESPN 101.3, and 88.7 WRHU.
