Earlier this month, Atlanta Hawks forward Thabo Sefolosha was found not guilty of all charges filed against him during his wrongful arrest outside of 1Oak Club back in April. And now that he's been cleared of any wrongdoing, Sefolosha is reportedly going to sue New York City and eight NYPD officers (all of whom took part in his arrest) for $50 million.

To review, back in April, Sefolosha was arrested under the accounts of obstructing government administration, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest resulting from an incident which took place outside of New York City nightclub, 1Oak. This arrest led to Sefolosha breaking his leg, due to excessive police force. Sefolosha underwent a court case for the alleged accounts and was found not guilty of all charges. Now that he's been cleared of all the wrongful charges, he's planning on suing NYC and the NYPD for $50 million.

According to the New York Post, Sefolosha's lawsuit will indicate that the broken leg he suffered caused him to become "substantially disabled" as the injury is "permanent in nature and continuing into the future" on the night in question. Now, although the Atlanta Hawks recently tweeted that Sefolosha is close to be 100% fit for the upcoming season, his lawyer, Alex Spiro told the Post that the forward "may not be dunking as much as he was before this happened."

Now, during the Hawks and Miami Heat preseason game on Sunday, Thabo was seen dunking:

This video probably won't be helping Sefolosha's case all that much. Maybe the start of the NBA preseason with Sefolosha back in action wasn't the best time for him to pursue a lawsuit.

Regardless, it seems as though Sefolosha's decision to file a lawsuit doesn't have much to do with the money, considering the fact that Sefolosha didn't lose anywhere near $50 million by sitting out the last few weeks of the 2014-2015 NBA season along with the Hawks' six-week playoff run. This is because Sefolosha is signed to a three-year, $12 million contract, as reported by Yahoo Sports.

So, it's fairly obvious that Sefolosha is attempting to take a stand against police brutality. The only problem is that his timing is definitely off, (especially if he wants to shine this season...)
