'Mr. Robot' Season 2: Christian Slater, Rami Malek, Portia Doubleday Hit SXSW interactive 2016

Before Mr. Robot Season 2 returns to USA Network, the cast and crew will be arriving at the SXSW Interactive, Film and Music 2016. Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), Elliot (Rami Malek), and Angela (Portia Doubleday) are heading back to the South By Southwest Film Festival.

In our season finale recap, an Evil Corp executive blew his brains out on live television as FSociety launched its hack attack, eliminating the world's debt and spread its message viral. While Elliot was searching for Tyrell throughout the city, Angela was being seduced by the power and wealth of Evil Corp. Unable to control his hallucinations, Mr. Robot took full control of Elliot and gave him orders to follow.

In the post-credits scene, while someone was knocking on Elliot's door, we discovered the White Rose (B.D. Wong) was playing both sides as he was seen at a gathering for Evil Corp.

According to Deadline, the South By Southwest Film Festival has announced its featured, along with the first wave of panels. "Among them, Jake Gyllenhaal and Producer Sarah Green will appear in featured conversations, Sam Esmail, Rami Malek and Christian Slater are returning for a discussion of Mr. Robot, and Kerry Washington will be on hand for a panel called "The New Rules Of Social Stardom" as part of the "Future of Entertainment" series of panels."

Organized by Kayra Contreras, from USA Network, there will be a panel entitled, "Coding on Camera: MR. ROBOT & Authenticity on TV"

The return to SXSW also marks a special reunion for the USA Drama. As Variety reports, during the 2015 event, under the Episodic category, the freshmen drama took home the Audience Award Winner. After screening the pilot, creator/showrunner Sam Esmail and director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) were recognized for their groundbreaking effort.

The SXSW Film Festival 2016 takes place in Austin March 11-19; SXSW Interactive is March 11-15; and SXSW Music is March 15-20.

Mr. Robot will return to USA Network for the second season.
