Reeva Steenkamp Pregnant, Cheating Rumors: Model Not With-Child at Time of Oscar Pistorius Shooting and Murder, Autopsy Reveals

On February 14, 2013, Olympic track star Oscar Pistorius (aka "Blade Runner") shot and killed his stunning South African model girlfriend, 29-year-old Reeva Steenkamp. Although 26-year-old Pistorius insists that the tragic Valentine's Day shooting was an accident, he currently faces charges of premeditated murder. On Monday (Feb. 25), the National Enquirer posted a rather shady report alleging that the couple had gotten into a heated argument the night before the shooting - over the fact that Steenkamp was "cheating" on Pistorius with one of her close friends. She then announced that she was pregnant and that shocking news is what sparked the deadly shooting the following morning. A family spokesperson for Steenkamp recently denied such morbid baby rumors, releasing a statement claiming that if the young beauty had been with-child, it would have been revealed during the post mortem autopsy.

The National Enquirer sparked the seedy cheating and pregnant allegations earlier this week with a report exclaiming that "the couple had a blazing row after over concerns Pistorius had that Reeva was cheating on him with one of her close friends." In an attempt to "appease" the track star's anger, Steenkamp apparently informed him that she was pregnant with his child. An alleged source "close to the investigation" explains to the shady tabloid - "Police believe the preg­nancy secret she revealed is what sent Pistorius over the edge and left her dead, with bullet wounds to the head, chest, pelvis and hand... Later that (Wednesday) night, neighbors com­plained of shouting and fighting coming from the house. Police were called to in­vestigate, but it appeared to be just another lover's spat, so nothing was done except to ask them to quiet down."

Pistorius insists that he thought Steenkamp was an intruder, which is why he shot her. Authorities believe there's more to the story, and that the Paralympics star planned the murder following an argument between the couple. However, there's no valid proof to suggest that the fight was sparked over cheating accusations or a "hidden" pregnancy.

In a statement released to Times Live, the late model's family spokesman Mike Steenkamp confirms that the pregnancy rumors are definitely untrue. If anything, Steenkamp's mother June would have known about it:

"The post mortem would have revealed if Reeva was pregnant and it did not reveal anything like this. Maybe it comes from the other side, to garner and build up some sort of support for Oscar."
