Is Justin Bieber getting all mushy over Selena Gomez yet again? The release of Bieber's new song, "Sorry," has sparked quite the debate. The lyrics, which are packed with what truly appears to be multiple references of his and Gomez's relationship, are making it tough to believe that the song was written about anyone other than her! Oh, and of course, he also made sure to release a music video to go along with it.

According to Bustle, Bieber finally dropped the bomb on "Sorry" this past Thursday by releasing both the song and the dance music video to go along with it. If you're a Bieber fan, you've probably witnessed all of his taunting and teasing for the track on his social media accounts. If not, the basics are that Bieber has been rambling on for a week about the release of the song. We first got a taste of the track when he teased us all with a snippet of the acoustic version in the Instagram video below.

As stated by Seventeen, the lyrics for the song just scream Gomez. Containing lines like "I know you know that I made those mistakes maybe once or twice / By once or twice I mean maybe a couple of hundred times" and "I know that I let you down, is it too late to say I'm sorry now?" it's pretty tough to believe that the song was written about anyone else.

The annotated lyrics to the song as well as notes from co-writers Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, are available on Genius, and assist in giving us an even better idea of what Bieber was trying to convey.

On regards to the overall meaning of the song, Michaels went on to explain that:

"We were just trying to capture that moment in a relationship or a particular moment in your life where you realize you made a mistake and you're finally ready to admit it and apologize."

What mistake was it that Bieber was finally ready to admit and apologize for? That's tough to say. But given the fact that him and Gomez were together for nearly three years and the relationship was by no means calm, we just can't help but wonder whether or not she's the one that he's finally ready to apologize to.

We must admit that regardless of who "Sorry" was actually written about, the dance version, which can be seen in the video below, truly does have one spectacular beat! Apologies might not typically make us want to bust a move, but Bieber obviously knows a thing or two about how to go about saying sorry. Who exactly he's apologizing to will just have to remain a mystery for now!

What do you think? Is the song an apology to Gomez? Or is it just odd timing?
