'Beauty and the Beast' Play Features Bollywood Actor Amitabh Bachchan’s Voice for Prologue

Bollywood's most celebrated actor, Amitabh Bachchan, lends his voice to one of a kind play by Disney India. Disney's Beauty And The Beast play debuts in Mumbai with the prologue narrated by none other than Amitabh Bachchan.

Disney India's Creative Head of Live Entertainment, Vikrant Pawar, has brought the astounding play of Beauty and the Beast with minimal facilities at hand but with standards that are being compared to that of New York's Broadway and London's West End.

Disney's most popular and longest running Broadway act has set its foot in Mumbai, India after covering 28 countries from around the world. The 130-minute long play will be featuring in all five major cities of India including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata.

The exclusively picked team of 18 talented lead artists by Disney has setup a grand event for their Beauty And The Beast play. The cast includes Edwin Joseph as Beast, Brian Tellis as Lumiere, Meher Mistry playing the beautiful Belle and Bugs Bhargava will play Cogsworth.

The opening of the play will be by Amitabh Bachchan who has previously done wonderful narration for the 1969s Bollywood movie, Bhuvan Shome. In an interview with New Indian Express while promoting the play, Mr. Bachchan expressed his gratitude for getting to be part of the play. Amitabh Bachchan said, "I am very happy to be a part of this pioneering effort to advance a new and unexplored format of entertainment in India."

The recognized play with Academy and Tony Awards in its bucket, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, which started its journey way back in 1994, will be seen opening curtains in India from Delhi. The play will run from Oct. to Dec. 2015.

The premiere of Beauty and the Beast play has been well-received. According to TheQuint, the settings are extravagant. The choreography by Terence Lewis and direction by Varsha Jain is receiving praises from all over the town.
