South Korean actress Jun Ji Hyun, who is famous for her roles in My Sassy Girl and My Love From the Star, is seven months pregnant and will go on maternity leave just after the 2015 K-Pop Culture Awards.

Jun Ji Hyun, 33, was married to investment banker Choi Joon-Hyuk on April 13, 2012. Korean Herald reported in July 2015 that the SBS Drama Award winner Ji Hyun is 10 weeks pregnant with her first child.

According to Korean Times, the K-pop Culture Awards are hosted by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will be held on Oct. 29 at the National Theatre of Korea in Seoul. The K-pop culture award honors to all the Korean pop stars who have contributed to the Korean entertainment industry.

Korean Times also reported that Jun would conclude her promotional activities before the birth of her first child with a last public appearance at the 2015 Korean Pop Culture Awards.

Jun started her career as a commercial model and as a TV actress. According to Korean Films, in 1999, Jun debuted in White Valentine, but it was Samsung commercial that made her a popular sensation in South Korea. Jun's breakout film was 2001 romantic comedy film My Sassy Girl, which was a huge hit both in Korea and throughout Asia. The movie made her Korea's most recognizable star in the Chinese-language market. My Sassy Girl also has an English adaptation directed by Yann Samuell in which Elisha Cuthbert played the lead role.

This year has been incredibly successful for Ji Hyun. The actress gained her five nominations at K-pop culture awards. There have been rumors that she might earn the presidential award for her lead role in Korean blockbuster movie, Assassination, for which she has already been nominated for Bull Film Awards for the Best Actress. According to film's IMDB, Jun's Assassination is an espionage action film set in 1930s colonial era, in which she played the role of a sniper who gathers a squad of fighters to kill a Japanese army commander and a Korean business tycoon.
