No Doubt will be heading back to the studio instead of touring in 2013 to promote their album "Push and Shove." Their first album in more than 10 years was released back in September and didn't build up the type of momentum fans were expecting.

No Doubt's most recent album failed to provide a hit single and there hasn't been a lot of buzz around the band's comeback. In an open letter on the band's Facebook page, the band tries to explain to fans their reason for postponing their tour.

"We have decided to follow our muse for the time being and focus on this new music that we don't want to stop. So, we will be postponing our tour plans briefly while we endeavor to create something special and inspired. Our goal as a band is to share this new music with you as quickly as possible - both recorded and live on tour."

It seems like the band is trying to spin this move as a positive, but I find it hard to believe cancelling any plans of a tour can be great news. My guess is that the band wasn't happy with the response they were getting to the new album and now they want to try something new to see if that works better.

The only real buzz the band got for its latest album was unfortunately surrounded by controversy. Their video for "Looking Hot" had to be removed after its content offended Native Americans. The band issued an apology on their website.

"As a multi-racial band our foundation is built upon both diversity and consideration for other cultures. Our intention with our new video was never to offend, hurt or trivialise Native American people, their culture or their history. Although we consulted with Native American friends and Native American studies experts at the University of California, we realise now that we have offended people. This is of great concern to us and we are removing the video immediately."

Fans will have to keep checking Mstarz as we give you the latest on No Doubt's touring plans. Unfortunately their reasoning for the change of heart is kind of vague, so we will have to wait and see what is next for the California band.
