The FX comedy Married has been canceled after two seasons, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Series creator Andrew Gurland took to Twitter to share the news with his followers and stated, "There will be no season three of @MarriedFX. Thank you @FXNetworks for the opportunity and thank you to all the fans. It's been a blast."

The Nat Faxon show co-stars actress Judy Greer and was picked up for a second season based on the creative merit of its past success. FX president John Landgraf's formula for ordering a second season included a look at the ratings and reviews, with the network having the option to overturn a two-thirds vote.

The series debuted in July 2014 and follows longtime married couple, Russ and Lina Bowman, who have a comically-flawed relationship. When it first aired, the show had 1.12 viewers which dropped to less than 300,000 by its Season 2 finale.

I am so sad. RIP #marriedfx

This past season, the series went through several creative changes, one with co-star Jenny Slate reducing her role as she pursued a leading role in another pilot. Faxon and Greer's characters also saw a career change that did very little to bring in more viewers.

Similar to Married, the FXX comedy You're The Worst is also delivering less than stellar ratings in its second season amidst it's mixed reviews. Earlier this year FX announced the comedy's 13-episode renewal and move to its younger network FXX. The switch immediately brought up critics' concerns over the fate of the anti-romantic comedy.

Vogue recently called it "The Best TV Show You're Not Watching," in an opinion piece about its clever dialogue and talented actors.

"It hasn't been blessed with almighty social buzz—it isn't live-tweeted with Empire- or Scandal-like voracity," said Vogue.com contributing writer Michelle Ruiz. "You're the Worst lives on what feels like the dark Web of your on-demand menu."
