While the stars of A&E's Duck Dynasty Season 9 have been living their lives in the spotlight for the last couple of years, it seems that the family might be able to keep a few things private. It is being reported that one of the members of the Robertson family had a medical scare at the end of last year that she kept secret from the press. It is being reported that the matriarch of the family, Korie Robertson, underwent a scary medical producer in December of 2014 when she got a hysterectomy.

According to Radar Online, the mother of five, explained that she was in rough shape after getting the surgery to remove her reproductive organs. It was a long road to recovery as she explained it took a while to finally get her strength back.

"I never dreamed it would be two weeks of getting out of my bed only to move to the recliner," the star explained in her new book, Strong and Kind. The star was also told by the doctors that it would likely be two months before she got back to normal, saying that he told her after 6-weeks that she would only be at 85% recovery.

Yet many fans are shocked by this revelation, as they might recall that at the beginning of this year that the starlet did interviews and appearances for the show. Many though that Robertson was fine, yet, little did they know that she was still recovering from the surgery while talking to reporters.

"There were moments of bravery during this awful time," the starlet recalls in the book, according to Right Wing News. "I had to do a couple of interviews for the television show, and I had to make one appearance. I managed to fake feeling good."

The star says that her kids, Rebecca, John Luke, Sadie, Will, and Bella as well as the rest of the family can now think back on the time, including them not pitching in around the house, and laugh about it.

"We are now able to laugh about the whole incident, which I love," Korie explained to readers, according to Daily Mail, adding some advice, saying, "it's okay for your kids to see you vulnerable."
