Things keep getting worse for Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer and no one knows what the MTV star is going through better than Dr. Drew Pinsky. As the host of the reunion shows, Dr. Drew has counseled the Teen Moms in trying to get through their real life drama as portrayed on the it reality series. Now, the Celebrity Rehab MD is speaking out about Leah losing custody of her twin girls to baby daddy Corey Simms and the impact it will have on her.

"I was expecting progress," Dr. Drew said backstage at The Rachael Ray Show. "If you saw the last reunion show -- which is the last time I had contact with her -- I believed she was making some progress."

According to the Dr. Drew On Call host, he thought Leah was on the right path since returning home from a stint in rehab for personal issues. Some have alleged, including her ex-husband Corey, that she went to get treatment for a drug addiction.

"One of the signs I noticed was that the people around her -- like her ex-husband and his new wife [Miranda Simms] -- people around her were starting to really come down on her," Dr. Drew explained. "When that starts to happen, that's a sign to me that the identified patient is getting better."

"I told Leah that I thought that was a good sign, and that she should just learn to tolerate it," he continued. "This is when they're really going to come down on her, but to just focus on her treatment. Which she was willing to do. She had lots of good questions for me."

As for the custody battle with Corey, Dr. Drew only wants a hopeful resolution for both parties so little Ali and Aleeah don't suffer in the end.

"I don't know if this recent issue with the child custody is going to set her back, but I certainly wish her the best," he said. "She is working very hard and this has been a terribly painful and stressful time for her. So, let's all wish her the best."

As MStars News reported, the West Virginia told Us Weekly that she is devastated to only be able to see her girls on the weekends and vowed to get them back.

"I feel like they should have both of us in their lives," Leah told the gossip mag. "At the end of the day, my kids are going to be happy, and I don't care what I have to do to make them happy."

Do you agree with Dr. Drew's assessment of the Teen Mom 2 star's unfortunate situation?
