Apparently, Liam Payne can't handle the nonstop pressure since Zayn Malik quit the popular boy band, One Direction. Payne's so stressed, he keeps arguing with fellow bandmate, Harry Styles. Things got so bad, the group was forced to cancel a show in Ireland earlier this month!

According to an alleged insider for Closer magazine, the 22-year-old "Story of My Life" crooner's going a little crazy:

"Liam has been under huge pressure since [Zayn] left. He feels he has to produce performances that carry the band... He lost it in Belfast. He was in tears and shouting at Harry. The rest of the band said they'd help him. Liam's made it clear he's reached his limit and is trying to hold it together for this tour, but is making no promises after that" (via HollywoodLife.com).

Supposedly, Payne got extremely ill before taking the stage in Northern Ireland on Tuesday (October 20). Just minutes before the concert was scheduled to start, an announcer told the anxious crowd:

"Unfortunately the show tonight has been cancelled as Liam has been taken ill. While it's not serious, he is unable to perform tonight. The band apologizes to its fans and on your behalf, wish him all the best in his recovery."

Obviously, several fans were extremely disappointed.

Styles later tried explaining to Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2 (without getting into gross detail):

"[I gave him] Pepto-Bismol [for a] stomach issue. [He was] just...very ill. It wasn't pretty" (October 22).

Poor Liam! But was the 21-year-old pop sensation just trying to cover for his struggling friend? Stay tuned as more details develop about the future of 1D.

Maybe Payne's already feeling better, since he just dropped a teaser for the new song "Olivia" on Twitter:

The guys recently confirmed that they'll go on a (temporary) hiatus after this On The Road Again tour.
