‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 Ep 4 Recap: “I Carry Your Heart” [SPOILERS]

It seems like in every few episodes of The Vampire Diaries there is a themed party and this week's "Heaven and Hell" ball did not disappoint. In the Season 7 episode, "I Carry Your Heart" fans see Bonnie bring back someone from the dead, Caroline and Stefan chaperone while on an awkward date, and Heretics threaten to kill innocent people. Let's recap, shall we?

In this week's episode, Alaric was still focused on finding a way to resurrect his dead wife. Bonnie needed to use the Phoenix stone around the same time that Damon found Oscar's missing body. Damon needed to get Oscar back to life in order to trade him with Lily for Elena's casket. Lily may not have been wise to everything that had happened, but Enzo knew that something was off.

Enzo, who was forced to become an outsider yet again, finds Matt Donovan to review the town's security footage. He spots Valerie stealing a car. When he confronts her, she tells him everything and mentions the name Julian, who Enzo isn't familiar with.

Meanwhile, Lily was tired of waiting for Damon to deliver and threatens to kill students until they have Oscar back. Bonnie's spell ends up working and brings back Oscar, however he comes back as a ripper.

While Damon is off writing love letters to Elena, Stefan and Caroline attended the themed party together. The couple's love story is still building, but Caroline is still unable to actually touch him, which she can thank Valerie for. Instead of getting face time with Valerie, the two decide to go after Nora by holding her girlfriend hostage. They eventually triumph and are able to get the spell broken and cue the love scene.

Damon chases down Oscar after he goes on a binge by attacking a bus full of people and Lily catches up with them. Lily tells Enzo more about her son Julian, however Lily's answers don't match up. Enzo then partners up with Valerie to take down the so-called saint, Julian.

At the end of the episode, fans watched Damon make plans to return to Mystic Falls as he tries to figure out his life without Elena.
