Atlanta woman Pamela Smith has filed a paternity suit against former superstar basketball player Michael Jordan in Fulton County, Ga., alleging that Jordan is the father of her 16-year-old son.
The lawsuit was filed last month. It claims that the man who led the Chicago Bulls to 6 national championships sired her son, Grant "Taj" Pierce Jay Jordan Reynolds. The suit requests that Jordan take a paternity test and, if he is found to be Taj's father, to pay child support and medical expenses for her son. The suit also contains a request that Taj be allowed to legally change his last name to Jordan.
Smith claims that she became pregnant with Jordan's son during an alleged 1995 affair. Jordan was married to Juanita Vanoy at the time. Taj was born in June 1996.
Two months ago, Taj uploaded a video to YouTube claiming Jordan as his father. The video shows pictures of the two together and Taj says "I'm [Jordan's] son. I've met him" and "I want him to be more in my life."
He also references the gossipy nature of the claim saying "I have some exclusive, exclusive information I feel like everybody should know. If you've been hearing any rumors on Twitter, Instagram, MediaTakeout, any of that...it's true."
