After being on television for nearly 20 years, we imagine that it's pretty hard to stay away. Which is exactly why (maybe?) former Daily Show host Jon Stewart has signed a deal with HBO to create some digital content for the network's HBO GO and HBO NOW platforms.

Deadline reports that Stewart's deal is unlike fellow Daily Show name John Oliver's, meaning that Stewart will have no obligation to create an actual television show for the pay cable network, unlike Oliver who now hosts Last Week Tonight.

Stewart's deal with HBO entails merely content on the network's digital platforms. Of course, he will also have a "first-look option" with HBO for possible film and television projects. And given his recent experience with Rosewater, it's possible that Stewart could be looking to do more films in the future.

HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo said of the deal, "Jon Stewart led a revolution that changed the face of TV comedy on the Daily Show. He graced our network nearly 20 years ago, so we're thrilled to welcome back his immense talents to the next chapter of his career."

Stewart echoed the praise, noting that he's "excited" to be working with the network.

"Appearing on television 22 minutes a night clearly broke me," he joked. "I'm pretty sure I can produce a few minutes of content every now and again."

Stewart famously left his coveted Comedy Central spot back on Aug. 6, handing over the torch to fellow comedian Trevor Noah, who premiered this past Sept. 28.

Stewart left New York and headed over the Hudson to his home state of New Jersey, opening an animal sanctuary with his wife, TraceyShe was recently interviewed on CBS for her new book, Do Unto Animals: A Friendly Guide to How Animals Live, and How We Can Make Their Lives Better.
