Sia actually penned a song for Adele that was later denied by Rihanna. So, do fans now consider "Alive" another hit for the "Chandelier" songstress? Perhaps the other two ladies missed-out on an awesome collaboration opportunity...

According to the 39-year-old Australian pop sensation, Adele initally cut the track from her highly-anticipated third studio album, 25. So instead, she approached 27-year-old RiRi:

"We wrote three songs in two days and none of them made the cut, and this was one of them," Sia explained in an exclusive interview with Ryan Seacrest. "I said to [Adele], 'Do you mind if I pitch it to, say, Rihanna?' And she said, 'Yeah, but can you take my vocal off it because I don't want my vocal floating around out there on a demo.' So I went and re-cut the vocal and everybody in my life was like, 'You can't give this away to anybody.'"

So maybe it's a good thing that the "FourFiveSeconds" beauty didn't snatch it up for her own upcoming record, Anti?

Chris Brown's ex did ultimately "pass" on the tune, but Sia can fully understand why:

"Well actually I believe she did [get a chance to consider it] and she passed... We sent it to her, but it's not really her so I don't know why I thought that. It is a smash, but she's a little more edgy" (via The Mirror).

Therefore, "Alive" officially premiered as the lead single for Sia's forthcoming album This Is Acting, currently scheduled for a January 29 (2016) release. The song debuted back in September, with a music video coming soon:

Critics were overall impressed. Rolling Stone reporter Jon Blistein described Sia's vocals as "devastating [and] electrifying, [while] the dramatic build of 'Alive' sounds straight out of Adele's wheelhouse, the outsized pop production — courtesy of Jesse Shatkin — and the ragged, throat-cracking, enrapturing vocal run Sia embarks on at the end are quintessentially her."

Do MstarsNews readers agree - the sound just wasn't right for either Adele or Rihanna? The beloved British crooner seems to be doing well with her most recent single, "Hello" -
