While Marvel's Jessica Jones set to premiere, there is still an empty slot to fill in the Netflix superhero series. Before The Defenders team-up, after Mike Colter shows up in, Marvel's Luke Cage, will The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) "takeover" Danny Rand aka Marvel's Iron Fist?

As we previously mentioned, in the next Netflix/Marvel lineup, Jessica Jones (Ritter) will become the super-powered private eye as she investigates cases of the extraordinary kind. Luke Cage will first appear in an episode of Marvel's AKA Jessica Jones. During an investigation in New York City, the private investigator will encounter the enigmatic superhero. His secrets will dramatically alter Jessica in ways she could never have imagined.

As we mentioned before, Ryan Phillippe revealed on the Howard Stern show that he is currently meeting with Marvel. Both parties are interested in discussing a new project. Because of Phillippe and Stern's conversation, the rumors speculated he was talking about playing Iron Fist. The Cruel Intentions actor then went to his official Twitter account to clear up the rumors, "I have no real Marvel news other than an upcoming meeting. Sorry to disappoint fans thought there was more to it. There is no story there."

According to Peel The Orange, as transcribed by Screen Rant, "Marvel will be turning Iron Fist into a Netflix exclusive feature film. This will give Marvel extra time and a larger budget for this project. The Punisher will replace Iron Fist as one of the four Defenders."

Even though the role of Frank Castle has been cast, this is all just rumors and we ill wait for a confirmation from Netflix/Marvel. If Netflix wants Iron Fist as an original film or series, either way, the superhero is important to their overall game plan.
