With only a several months to live, Nolan Keane, a 28-year-old baseball star from MIssouri State University has inspired friends, family and strangers to help make his last wish come true. Keane has been fighting the fierce battle against brain cancer since 2008 together with his high school sweetheart Morgan Carstens.
Through thick and thin, the two have been faithful to each other throughout the entire process of treatments and surgeries. Radaronline reported that Carstens had put her career on hold to take care of Keane full time.
This story reminds us about the power of love and the power of will to live life to the fullest.
Despite the negative reality that Keane's life will end very soon, Keane and Carstens will be getting married on March 9, 2013. Their dream is to "go back to Disney one last time for their honeymoon" as stated on the Giveforward.com page set up to fundraise for their honeymoon trip.
Since the special page launched with the help of friends and family, $38,297 has been raised as of March 2, 2013, surpassing their goal of $20,000.
People have responded to this story with encouraging messages such as "you both truly are an example of unconditional love, strength, and BRAVERY! enjoy every laugh, hug, and kiss..most of all, have a great & happy honeymoon" from a couple who had donated $3000 to "Trust in God, as He gave us the gift to love one another. Trust in God that those of us who love one another will be with each other once again when we leave this world and enter the next one" from an anonymous donor.
