Rapper Eminem's hit 2002 single "Cleanin' Out My Closet" was originally written for fellow D12 member, Bizarre. Maybe that's why the infamous "Rap God" was not featured on the hip-hop supergroup's latest Devil's Night mixtape release?

According to Kuniva, the crew ultimately passed on the popular Eminem Show tune, so it's not like Slim Shady "stole" anything:

"We did a lot of records, man," he revealed in a recent interview with HotNewHipHop. "I remember just one particular record. It ended up being an Eminem record. What was that, 'Sorry Mama?' It was 'Sorry Mama.' One of his biggest hits. And we had that song first. And actually, Bizarre was on that song first. And he was talking some crazy sh*t. And the whole group was like, 'Yo, you can't say this sh*t. It's too much.' So, he got a call from Dr. Dre. And Dre was like, 'Say that sh*t, man. You gotta say it. Blah blah blah.' But after a while, he ultimately gave into the group and was like, 'You know what? F*ck it, man'" (via HipHopDX).

Did that somewhat awkward situation ultimately spark a small industry beef with the 43-year-old MMLP2 emcee? Interestingly enough, Em doesn't appear anywhere on the new D12 album (even for a quick collaboration), but apparently there's no hard feelings:

"Eminem didn't make this project at all," Kuniva explained. "He tried as much as he could, but he didn't make it. We could've waited for him to go ahead and do it, but we wanted to really just let people know that we're also emcees too and we can handle ourselves. We know how to do this sh*t." (via VladTV).
