Joe Budden Speaks Against Drug Usage, After Having Survived A “Drug-Induced” Summer

Jersey City hip hop artist Joe Budden has spoken against drug usage. The most trending and drug of choice is Molly (MDMA) these days.

Budden, while speaking to myfoxny.com last month, said that the drug had "harmful effects" and he had "barely survived" after doing it last summer. "I didn't see a problem with the fact that maybe five days would go by without sleeping," Budden told a myfoxny.com. "I didn't see a problem with the fact that maybe I was hallucinating at times. I didn't see a problem with the fact that I just couldn't get up and walk sometimes."

Molly is a drug that is pure form of MDMA or ecstasy. Artists like Madonna, Rihanna and Kanye West have mentioned Molly in their songs.

The 32-year-old artist told ThisIs50.com that "I don't do drugs. Period," the "Pump It Up" singer  said "matter-of-factly," when asked about him quitting drug usage.

"That's the part that throws me for a loop, the Hip Hop industry has never known me to be on drugs, ever. I had a drug-induced summer this past year and everybody's like, 'Oh word.' I've been talking about this shit since 2002. It's nothing new. Some people can function, I'm just dysfunctional and self-destructive, period. So I wouldn't need anything to add to that," said the singer when asked about being a drug user.

Budden was doing drugs in school and had entered rehab in 1997.

Budden released his third studio album, "No Love Lost," Feb 5, 2013. One of the singles in the album titled, "N.B.A. (Never Broke Again)" features rappers Wiz Khalifa and French Montana.
