Retired Yankees Captain Derek Jeter Makes Jorge Posada His Best Man at Hannah Davis Wedding?

Retired New York Yankees catcher, Jorge Posada may play a role in Derek Jeter's wedding, since the former team captain and shortstop will be tying the knot with model, Hannah Davis soon. While we don't have an official wedding date as of yet, but it's no secret that they two MLB players were close friends. In fact, Posada chose Jeter to be his best man at his 2000 wedding to wife Laura.

The Daily News caught up with the Yankees catcher on Wednesday at the ALS Association's Lou Gehrig Sports Award dinner, where he was being honored in Times Square and was asked if he would be returning the best man favor. "That's a good question for him," says Posada to sportswriter Christian Red. He added, "I'm happy for him." "She's amazing. We love her. We look forward to that (wedding) day." Red inquired if the retiree learned about the shortstops engagement via the media, but Jorge confessed, "No, he texted me." and added, "He texted, 'I just got engaged' "

Jeter did it his way. He confirmed the engagement to the 25-year old Sports Illustrated swimsuit model in a post on The Players Tribute, a website that he publishes. Jeter mentioned Davis' new title and the dog Kane on the same line. He wrote, "He was a Christmas gift last year from my fiancée, who's family had Mastiffs growing up. I never owned a pet in my life." The Capitan may have never had a fiancée before neither.

According to US magazine, the Yankees star was previously linked to several celebrity women including, "Jessica Biel, Vanessa Lachey, Jordana Brewster and Mariah Carey. He was also in a three-year relationship with Minka Kelly until 2011." He started dating Hannah in 2012 and a source revealed, "Their relationship works because they are both supportive and sweet to each other. They almost never fight."
