Rihanna Dissed: Disclosure Denies New Song Collaboration, 'Doesn't Write Own Music' Shade

The popular electronic music duo Disclosure respects fellow musicians who write their own original tunes. So, fans shouldn't expect a collaboration with Barbadian pop sensation Rihanna anytime soon...

During a rather intimate Studio Science workshop at London's renowned Red Bull Studios earlier this month, brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence revealed that they almost didn't work with Grammy Award winner Sam Smith on the debut hit single, "Latch" -

Apparently, the "Stay With Me" crooner wasn't familiar with legendary R&B singer, D'Angelo. That initially turned the Seattle superstars away. But reluctantly, Guy let Smith borrow a copy of 2000's groovy Voodoo album. According to Metro, the 23-year-old English songwriter was instantly hooked. Things ultimatley worked out, since "Latch" became the band's first No. 1 single in the UK.

Obviously, Disclosure has high standards and expectations when agreeing to record any collaboration.

So, why won't they hit the studio with the 27-year-old "FourFiveSeconds" beauty?

According to the report, "They prefer to work with artists who write their own songs."

Well, it's safe to say that a surprise appearance probably won't happen on RiRi's highly-anticipated upcoming album, Anti!

Disclosure has already worked with a slew of renowned artists, including Lorde, Gregory Porter, Aluna Francis, and Lion Babe. Their second studio record Caracal was released back in September (2015).
