Former Chicago Bulls player and tabloid mainstay Dennis Rodman has a message for President Barack Obama from North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un and that message is "Call me."

Rodman, who recent HBO-supported excursion to North Korea caused many to raise their eyebrows, went on "The Week with George Stephanopoulos" to discuss his recent trip to the authoritarian dictatorship. Check out the video below.

Rodman is the only American to speak to Kim Jong-Un, son of longtime North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il, since he took office last April. Though Rodman has come under fire for his recent comments about the dictator, he continued to back up his claims that Kim Jong-Un is "awesome" and "honest." Rodman even added that he "loved the guy."

When Stephanopoulos fired back that North Korea has a terrible human rights record, Rodman was quick to defend his newfound friend saying that he's "going to change" and that "people respect him and his family."

Stephanopoulos pointed out this was probably out of fear of retribution but Rodman didn't think so. He claims that the world will see a new Kim Jong-Un one that is open to negotiation with the United States.

"He wanted Obama to do one thing - call him," said Rodman adding that the leader told him that he did not want to "do war."

Of course, Kim Jong-Un has repeatedly threatened the United States and ignored UN sanctions against the continuing development of a nuclear weapons program. Recently, Kim released a statement that said "settling accounts with the U.S. needs to be done with force, not with words."

In spite of all this Rodman told Stephanopoulos that he plans to return to North Korea. Upon hearing this, Stephanopoulos gave him a human rights report on the republic to take along for the journey.

Rodman seemed unfazed simply responding "Don't hate me."

Is Rodman in the wrong? Sound off in the comments.
