'Empire' Season 2 Spoilers: Twitter Reacts Terrence Howard, Marisa Tomei Lucious/Mimi 3-Way!

Fox continues with the musical Season 2 soap opera of Empire. In last night's Episode 7, Twitter had lots to say as Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) and Mimi Whiteman (Marissa Tomei) hooked up for a shocking three-way sex scene.

In our previous recap, Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) struggled to concentrate on his music after being freed from his kidnapping. Feeling like his children abandoned him, Luscious sought out a new protege to mentor. Laz Delgado (Adam Rodriguez) convinced Cookie to pay the kidnappers's ransom and hire them as her security team. As Laz and Cookie slept together, she doesn't realize he is the criminal mastermind who orchestrated Hakeem's kidnapping and Tiana's mugging.

In our recent recap, Lucious learned he needed to dig deeper in order his new track to be successful. After scoring a successful and lucrative business deal, Mimi and Luscious celebrated with a lineup of high-class escorts. While Mimi dealt with a broken relationship, Luscious was haunted by memories of his childhood. Luscious abandoned his threesome and returned to the studio to record.

In an interview with Variety, showrunner Ilene Chaiken explains Mimi and Lucious' dynamic, "What it means is that Mimi and Lucious are two of a kind. They're so like one another and they're finding a partnership. They both clearly have some dark corners that they play in and they are making big things happen and going to those places together and forming a trust and a bond together that gets kind of consummated in this twisted scene. There's nothing from that hookup other than Mimi knows exactly what she's doing."
