Vicki Gunvalson on Brooks Ayers Cancer Lies: "I'm Guilty of Loving Him and Believing Him"

Vicki Gunvalson may be feeling a bit crazy after she believed that her ex-boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, had cancer. If you're a fan of The Real Housewives of Orange County, then you probably were siding with the other cast members when they felt Ayers cancer story was a complete lie. Now, after finally confessing that he had fabricated his story about getting treatment at the cancer hospital, City of Hope, Ayers ex-girlfriend is speaking out, and says that she was "guilty of loving him, and believing him," when he told her he had the disease.

According to People, the RHOC vet said that she was in total shock. "I'm completely shocked. I've seen the bills, I went to City of Hope." If you keep up with the Bravo TV reality show, then you probably have been wondering about Ayers mystery cancer too. Gunvalson tried to fight back the tears after she revealed that she picked up her ex at a medical facility following his first round of chemo.

The 53-year-old remembered that day and described it. She said: "He was there all morning so how do you think anything other than he's getting chemo? You go to City of Hope because you have cancer, not because you have nothing else to do during the day."

Throughout this season, Gunvalson tried her best to support her ex when it appeared that her friends were against her. Ayers claimed that he had stage 3 cancer, but the ladies of the show believed he was faking the entire time.

"I'm guilty of loving him and believing him. Who hasn't believed someone that you loved?" the reality star said. "And why would you lie about cancer when I've had three friends die of it in the last two years? I had my dearest friend just die of stomach cancer."

Despite claiming that she was unaware of her ex's lies, Gunvalson didn't hesitate to admit she owed her fellow cast-mates an apology. She even admitted to being embarrassed by the entire ordeal.

She said, "As God as my witness, I would never want to make something up like this; it's actually quite sick. I'm embarrassed. I want to tell the girls I'm sorry."

Hopefully she will get the chance to do so during the RHOC reunion show.

After Ayers claimed that he had received treatment from the City of Hope, they slammed his reports and said that the reality star had never received treatment at their facility. Ayers finally confessed that he was lying.

In his statement, Ayers said that he regretted his actions and admitted that he fabricated his story about getting treated at the City of Hope. He also said that his ex, Gunvalson, didn't know that he was lying.
