16-Year-Old Florida Student Suspended: Wrestles Gun From Teen Aiming To Kill, Cypress Lake High School Student Gets 'Emergency Suspension'

A 16-year-old boy is suspended after saving the lives of his classmates and himself from another student who threatened to shoot. The Cypress Lake High School student wrestled the revolver from a 15-year-old on a school bus heading home.

According to Fox 4 the student was suspended for three days. The unidentified "hero" told Fox in an interview, "I think he was really going to shoot him right then and there," the student said. "Not taking no pity."

The brave teen the .22 caliber RG-14 Revolver from the suspect, who allegedly threatened to shoot a teammate over an argument he had with his friend, "No doubt," the student said, "he was going to shoot him point blank."

The conduct referral given to the 16-year-old was for being apart of the "incident" and therefore was given an "emergency suspension."

The teen's mother doesn't agree with the school's decision to suspend her son and said, "If they wouldn't've did what they had to do on that bus," the teen's mother said, "I think there would have been a lot of fatalities."

The unidentified mother told Fox 4, "Those kids had to fight for their lives," she said. "All the kids that was involved in this they should have a pat on their backs because they did the right thing to save someone from burying their child," she later added that her son was suspended after refusing to cooperate in the investigation because he was scared.

Fox 4 news had contacted the Lee County School District about the teen's suspension and contacted spokesman Alberto Rodriguez who said, "We cannot discuss specifics involving students," he added, "Florida law allows the principal to suspend a student immediately pending a hearing."

In all, three students were suspended. The identity of the teens involved were not released due to their age.
